Subscription FAQs

How soon will I receive my first issue?

It may take up to 8 weeks before your first issue arrives. Once your subscription is established, you should receive your issue around the middle of the month prior to issue date (for example: the February issue should arrive around the 15th of January). If you are concerned, please feel free to contact us.

What if I want to check on my subscription or report a missing or damaged issue?

You may use our online customer service form above or call our toll-free subscription line, 1-800-898-6639. Customer service reps are available seven days a week: Monday-Friday, 7 am – midnight, Saturday-Sunday, 9 am – 6 pm, EST. Our customer service team has full access to the database and can answer most of your questions. They can also arrange to have a missing or damaged issue re-shipped or your subscription extended.

Who do I contact – and when – to change my subscription address?

You can do this online, too. Click on www.nmmagazine.com/subscribe and follow the prompts. Do this two months before you move to avoid missing any issues. If you'd rather call our 800 toll-free phone number, our reps would be happy to take care of this for you.

What if my issues repeatedly arrive damaged?

We can arrange to have your issues polybagged at no extra charge. Contact Customer Service and request that your magazines be "wrapped." It takes two months to get this service started. If your magazine arrives damaged during that time, we will be happy to replace it.

Do you accept overseas subscriptions?

Yes. Subscriptions to Canada, Mexico or overseas cost $20 more per year for Priority shipping. That way, the magazine arrives in good shape and in a timely fashion. Another option is signing up for our Digital Edition. Go to our homepage www.nmmagazine.com and navigate to the bottom of the page.

Can I use your toll-free number from overseas?

No, but you can use our online customer service pages, email us at newmexicomagazine@emailcustomerservice.com or you call 1-505-827-7447, 8-5, M-F, MST, when our Editorial offices are open.

About gift subscriptions: Will a card be sent announcing my gift?

Yes, if you have the subscription entered with us with you as the "donor," we will send a card announcing your gift.

Will those I give gifts to receive renewal notices?

You will receive the renewal notices.

Is there any discount on gift subscriptions if I am a subscriber already?

If you give a gift and renew your subscription at the same time, you will receive a discount on the second subscription. Or, if you give more than one gift subscription, you will receive discounts after the first.

I’d like to order a subscription online, but I don't want to give my credit card information. Can you bill me?

Yes, you will be able to indicate that preference.

Why do I have to talk to someone in Palm Coast, Florida when I call Customer Service? Why isn't this business done in New Mexico?

Circulation fulfillment is a specialized business and there are no companies in New Mexico that perform this service for magazines at this time. We are working with one of the best companies in the USA.

Your subscription rate is just too high for me! How can I get a better deal?

If you order your subscription online, it costs less ($19.95 instead of $25.95). If you are an educator, a student, a New Mexico State Employee or a retired state employee, contact Janet Leigh Dick ( janet@nmmagazine.com, 505-827-6365) for a special promotion code to use online.

I have a friend who received a discounted subscription offer in the mail. Why don’t long-time subscribers get the best deal?

We value our long-time subscribers the most. Potential new subscribers occasionally are offered an "introductory rate" which is just that: it lets them "test drive" the magazine. If everyone got the introductory rate, we couldn't stay in business. But we do try to cut costs when we can, and pass along those savings. If you subscribe or renew online, we can give you a better rate because processing those orders is less expensive for us. Visit us at www.nmmagazine.com/subscribe.

What if I decide I don’t like the magazine and want to cancel my subscription?

This is a simple customer service function. We will refund your money, on a prorated schedule. You do not have to give a reason, though we always appreciate knowing why a subscriber is canceling.

General Subscription Information:

Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of your first issue or gift; foreign orders may take 12 weeks. Subscribers generally receive their issues the middle of the month prior to issue date (example: the December issue should arrive around the 15th of November).
