Corrales

This village sits in a lush verdant valley on the Rio Grande. Though you are minutes from the metropolitan area of Albuquerque, you feel you are in a different, peaceful world. Small farms and many art galleries can be found in Corrales, and opportunities abound for birdwatching and hiking in the Corrales Bosque Nature Preserve. The New Mexico Wine Growers Association is headquartered in Corrales, near a well-known winery. Here, you can also tour the historic Spanish colonial-era rancho at Casa San Ysidro and the old San Ysidro Church, built in 1860. Corrales hosts an active calendar of fairs, festivals and community performances year-round.
